Sister Rose Pacatte has held a number of positions as a Pauline sister dedicated to spreading God’s love through the communications media for 55 years. She has written or co-written several award-winning books, two that create a K-12 media mindfulness program for Catholic schools and families. She is also the award-winning film columnist for St. Anthony Messenger (since 2003) and a contributor to the National Catholic Reporter (since 2009.) Sr Rose has presented on media literacy education in several countries and has served as a member of the Catholic or ecumenical juries in numerous international film festivals. In addition to teaching online courses for the Institute of Pastoral Initiatives at the University of Dayton for twenty years, most recently Rose served as an adjunct professor at the Catholic University of America teaching “Evangelization in a Digital Age.” She also contributed to the newly released book from Routledge, “Media Literacy, Equity and Justice” and is on the board of the International Council for Media Literacy and Catholics in Media Associates in Los Angeles. Rose has been involved in NAMLE since the beginning and in the organizations that preceded it.
